Joel Lackovich is a Business Development Manager in the Scientific Division of Thomson Reuters. At Thomson Reuters he is responsible for all new and existing business in the Bio/Chem segment of Thomson Reuters Scientific Division on the west coast of North America, and he ensures small and mid-size Biotech, Pharma, and Chemical companies have all the business intelligence they need surrounding the following 12 areas: Drugs & Biologics, Targets & Pathways, Genomics, Biomarkers, Organic Synthesis, Experimental Pharmacology, Pharmokinetics/metabolism, Clinical Studies, Disease Briefings, Competitive Intelligence, Literature search capabilities, and Patent Information.
Prior to joining Thomson Reuters, Lackovich was a Senior Account Manager on the Invitrogen Sales Force and an Integration Leader during the recent Invitrogen/ABI merger. While on the Invitrogen North American Sales Force he was a top performer every year and won multiple sales awards including Account Manager of the Year Award and the Sales Master Award. Before pursuing a career in sales he worked over 2 years in R&D with Invitrogen.
Lackovich has a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Microbiology, with a Minor in Chemistry and English from the University of Florida, and also holds a Master’s Degree in Biotechnology from the University of Florida. Recently he was accepted to the MBA program at the Marshall School of Business at the University of Southern California, and is presently wrapping up writing his first sales management book entitled, “Selling Discovery”.
