Event Details:

In the past few decades, patients’ roles in treatment choices have increased as never before, and the shared decision making process has changed more than the way patients and physicians interact. The availability of information on the Internet along with the advent of direct-to-consumer prescription drug advertising has greatly increased the ability of individuals to research their own health conditions and treatment options, and to become more informed consumers. Julie will discuss how patients’ active roles in choosing and staying on medications can impact both drug development and marketing programs, including why and how manufacturers are including input from patients along with that from physicians, insurers, and other decision makers.
