Medical product development has created one of the most challenging and consistent industries in the Silicon Valley due to patient risks and FDA regulations. As the population ages, demand for new and improved solutions continue to drive development of new medical technologies. While medical product development generally follows a standard development process, there are a unique challenges that must be addressed in this highly regulated industry.
Mark, Aaron and Rob will highlight their experiences in this field from multiple points of view. Mark will share his product design / prototype development perspective, while Aaron will discuss testing and risk management from a regulatory compliance viewpoint. To round out the discussion, Rob will provide the viewpoint of an active growing medical device company in Silicon Valley. From this session, you will learn about:

• Unique aspects of developing a medical device
• Classic pitfalls that can delay or derail the process
• The role of risk management in developing medical products
