Design for Six Sigma can significantly improve product quality, customer satisfaction, time to market and manufacturability. DFSS collects the voice of the customer and focuses efforts in the early stages of the design cycle to develop robust requirements. It then applies well established statistical methods to achieve and demonstrate conformity to those requirements. DFSS also contains a set of tools to improve reliability, testability and reproducibility. These align very well with the intent of design controls and can help device manufacturers be more profitable while improving compliance to design controls.
