Course Description: Designed for those who understand the principles of product and service quality evaluation and control. A detailed listing of the certification requirements are contained in the body of knowledge. Course Prerequisites: You must have eight years of on-the-job experience in one or more of the areas of the Certified Reliability Engineer Body of Knowledge. A minimum of three years of this experience must be in a decision-making position. "Decision-making" is defined as the authority to define, execute, or control projects/processes and to be responsible for the outcome. This may or may not include management or supervisory positions. There are some special education requirements that can waive some experience requirements. Please consult the details on the national website or call 800-248-1946. This course is designed to supplement the knowledge of the individual having meet the requirements for certification and is not designed to teach the entire body of knowledge. Supporting Courses: Project Management, Basic Probability, Inferential Statistics, Experimental Statistics Certification Exam Schedule: The exam is given twice per year, once in April and again in October. There is a deadline for registering for the exam. Required Course Materials: CRE Primer from the Quality Council of Indiana as well as the solution text will be provided as part of the class fee. Early registration is encouraged so that texts may be ordered and available at the first class.
